Third Sector returns in January with new look and columnists

Two new columnists are to join Third Sector when it next appears on Wednesday 12 January in an expanded, improved format.

They are Peter Cardy, chief executive of Macmillan Cancer Relief, and Tash Shifrin, a freelance writer on the voluntary sector, formerly on the staff of The Guardian.

Third Sector will have eight extra editorial pages, including new sections on politics, people management and social responsibility. There will also be more space for letters and extra features.

Cardy said: "I have been poking about inside the voluntary and charity sector for more than three decades and it amazes me. I am looking forward to sharing some of my amazement. Maybe I'll be able to get in touch with my inner Grouch at last!"

Third Sector wishes all readers a happy and peaceful Christmas.
