The bags are made of recycled plastic bottles and all proceeds from sales are going to Tesco's 2008 charity partner Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The first two designs of the collection – a ‘multi-floral fashion' print and a ‘classic blue spot' print – will be available in larger Tesco stores across the UK from early July. They will be priced at £3.50, with 50p from each sale going to Marie Curie. Four more designs will follow in the next six months.

According to Tesco, a minimum of £250,000 will be raised in order to fund an additional 12,500 hours of home nursing care for terminally ill patients and their families.
