Former JPMorgan managing director and Conservative Party candidate Harriet Baldwin has been appointed as the new chair of Futurebuilders England's investment committee.

Baldwin, who has worked with shadow charities minister Greg Clark on the party’s third sector policies, will also act as deputy chair of the Futurebuilders board.

The Government loan fund has been recruiting new members for its board and investment committee since it was taken over by the Adventure Capital Fund from Futurebuilders in April. One former board member, Peter Clarke, remains. He now sits on the investment committee.

"We had an excellent board already in place from ACF, but we wanted to strengthen and expand that with other key players from within the third and other sectors," said Stephen Bubb, chair of Futurebuilders England.

"I was keen to put together a seriously hard-hitting board that drew top people from the City – expert investment bankers and venture capitalists, working together with dynamic leaders from small and large charities and social enterprises."

Jonathan Lewis, chief executive of Futurebuilders England, said: "Over the next three years, we plan to bring about a dramatic increase in the number of third sector organisations contracting with the public sector to deliver public services."
