Trescothicks play charity match for hospice

Former international cricketer Marcus Trescothick will play a charity match alongside his father to raise funds for the Children's Hospice South West.

The game will see Trescothick lining up with his father Martyn for the first time in 20 years, for the Keynsham team where he started his career. The Trescothicks will open the batting against Marcus's county team, Somerset, at Keynsham's home ground on 29 August.

The hospice has received Trescothick's support throughout his benefit year at his county club, Somerset, and he has promised to continue to support it in the future.

"People have been very generous in their support for CHSW, and I am both pleased and humbled to have been able to help in a very small way," he said.

The hospice runs a care complex in north Devon, and has just opened a new centre in north Somerset.
