UK NGOs seek team of accountants for teaching in S Africa

Two UK NGOs are looking for accountants to teach finance skills in rural schools in South Africa.

Mango and Link Community Development want to recruit seven accountants to work on their joint Phakama programme in the Eastern Cape province for five weeks in July and August 2003.

Mango provides financial management services to relief and development organisations. Link Community Development aims to improve the prospects of disadvantaged children and their communities in Africa.

The accountants will work with senior staff, helping them to manage their schools independently.

"It offers participants an extraordinary experience, using their existing professional skills to contribute to social development," said a spokesman for Mango.

Successful applicants will receive "training for trainers".
