Volunteering charity v is launching a roadshow that will visit colleges and universities across England to encourage students to volunteer.

The chairty aims to demonstrate to young people how volunteering can help them get ahead in life, and to promote recruitment to volunteering opportunities on v’s website.

A team will take to the road in the ‘Bigvbus’ and will invite students on board at each stop to take part in a variety of workshops.

Industry achievers from major brands, celebrities and career specialists will also tour the 14 further education colleges and universities selected as part of the campaign.

Kath Jones, marketing manager at v, said: "Students face one of the hardest employment climates in years and the need to stand out from the crowd is even more important than ever. Volunteering can help them gain skills and give them experience to build their CVs – and it’s fun."
