Three places in the London Marathon will be given away to a charity through a prize draw being held by fundraising website Virgin Money Giving.
To enter, charities must register with Virgin Money Giving, which costs £100 plus VAT, and receive donations through the system by the end of September.
They will then be entered into a draw, the winner of which will be awarded three places in next year’s event on 17 April.
A spokesman for Virgin Money Giving said: "The London Marathon raises huge sums for hundreds of charities.
"This year, more than £50m was raised for charity. We hope that during the course of Virgin’s five-year sponsorship of the marathon more than £250m will make its way to good causes."
