Volunteer kitemark scheme introduced

Four volunteering development groups, including Volunteering England, have produced a quality-standards awards programme for organisations that use volunteers to deliver their work.

Investing in Volunteers - which was launched last Friday - is a UK-wide quality assurance benchmark for any charity or company that meets the required standards of volunteer management.

The programme will be managed by the UK Volunteering Forum and delivered by Volunteering England, Volunteer Development Scotland, the Northern Ireland Volunteer Development Agency and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

Organisations that have committed to the scheme include Trinity Hospice, the Children's Trust, St Raphael's Hospice and Sutton and Croydon Volunteer Bureaux.
