Tell me about Unicef UK's fundraising team and the work you do
Unicef UK’s fundraising programme has doubled in size in recent years, and we have yet more ambitious plans for the future. We generate conversations with the general public, Unicef's supporters and our staff, and ensure that they know how much we value and appreciate them.
Why would someone want to work at Unicef UK?
We have saved millions of children’s lives. Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We are changing the world for children - what could be more motivational?
What interesting projects are you working on?
We’re working to make sure our messages reach as many supporters as possible! This year we are trying out new communications techniques, running innovative events and reaching new audiences with our TV-led campaign: ‘We are the Generation’.
What role are you recruiting for and what does it involve?
Over the coming months we will be recruiting for a number of fundraising roles. Opportunities can be in philanthropy, corporate, trusts and foundations or legacies. What training and development opportunities do you offer?
Unicef UK's learning and development programme is extensive and evolving. Feedback from staff is taken seriously, and the L&D team work hard to ensure that courses on offer meet the needs of our staff. We also encourage staff development through internal movement. In fact, around a third of our vacancies are filled with existing staff. In addition to this, each year, we have the opportunity to visit one of Unicef’s projects around the world to see the impact of our work first hand.
