Website to help charities manage online tribute funds

Our Lasting Tribute has built a website to help charities create and manage their tribute funds online.

The scheme, developed over the past two years by marketing agency Whitewater, allows donors to pay tribute to someone who has died, while raising funds for their chosen charity.

Charities affiliated to the scheme are given a web page that allows donors to post photos and write journals dedicated to their loved ones. Visitors to the pages, ehich are usually accessed via the charity's home page, are able to leave tribute messages and make donations.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer has moved its Crocus Fund tribute scheme onto the site and a dozen more charities are expected to join in the coming weeks.

“This is a major step forward in tribute giving and puts the donor at the heart of the programme,” said Kevin Kibble, managing director of Our Lasting Tribute.

“This web platform has been designed to be accessible to most sizes of organisation. It is a low-cost, easily administered method of introducing the enormous potential of tribute fundraising.”
