Spinal cord injury charity Aspire has organised a Channel Swim event, in which more than 10,000 people are expected to swim 22 miles - the width of the English Channel - at local pools.

The swims will take place between 13 September and 5 December, and participants can break the 22 miles down into as many sessions as they like. The charity hopes to raise £550,000.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation, which awards grants to breast cancer charities, will receive £50 from the sale of each limited-edition pink bed sold by bed manufacturer Slumberland. The beds will be available from September to November.

Recruitment consultancy Compliant Global Search will host a seven-a-side rugby tournament to raise money for disability charity Scope. Sixteen teams will compete at the event on 7 August at Rosslyn Park in south-west London. Tickets cost £5 per person.

Chocolate manufacturer Cadbury has launched a limited-edition Dairy Milk bar to raise money for Help the Hospices. Ten pence from the sale of each honey flake and pecan chocolate bar will be donated to the charity.
