Essex Air Ambulance, Autism Anglia and the Essex Wildlife Trust will jointly organise a charity jailbreak event this month. Supporters are sponsored to escape from Colchester Castle and get as far away as possible in 24 hours without spending any money or calling friends or family for lifts. In previous years, teams have reached Rome and Oslo.

More than 300 fundraisers will abseil down the side of London's Battersea Power Station to raise money for landmine clearance charity the Mines Advisory Group. The event will take place on 2 May.

The Furnishing Industry Trust will hold shooting and fishing competitions this summer to raise funds. Its Big Shots day, which costs £195 to enter, will take place on 10 June and its National Fishing Day event, which costs £30 to take part, will be on 12 June.

The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution has announced its first national cream tea week. The charity will provide information packs to help supporters host cream tea fundraising events during the week, which will take place between 27 August and 3 September.
