Guide Dogs has launched a new website offering a range of virtual gifts for people to buy as Christmas presents. They include Christmas dinner for 10 guide dog puppies and a large pack of poo collection bags for £20. The charity will send a Christmas card and photo to the recipient of each gift instead of a present.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer has been given 24 minutes of prime-time advertising by the FX Channel during episodes of the drama Nip/Tuck, which will feature a storyline about a man who has the disease. The charity hopes the adverts will raise awareness of male breast cancer.
Samaritans is launching a television fundraising campaign. Its advert, which is being broadcast on 10 digital channels, features a young woman who has experienced a lifetime of abuse and is extremely distressed, but finds help through calling Samaritans.
Ucan, the urological cancer charity, wants its supporters to cycle 433 miles across Scotland from the Mull of Galloway to John O'Groats. The challenge - called the Mog-Jog - will take place from 4 to 9 June to raise funds for the Scottish charity.
