What's new: the Leprosy Mission, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Advocates for Animals

Your round-up of the latest fundraising campaigns

Fundraiser Astrid Domingo Molyneux has completed a 20,000-mile round-the-world bike ride to raise funds for The Leprosy Mission.

She set out in May 2008 and returned to the UK on 15 May this year. During the journey, Molyneux, 53, travelled through 28 countries, including Jordan, Iran, India and Tibet.

Marie Curie Cancer Care held a Sex and the City-themed quiz night on 17 May. Guests paid £90 to attend the event. The questions in the quiz were set by actors and writers from the show. About 200 people attended the event, at which they received dinner and cocktails.

Cardboard Citizens, a professional theatre company for homeless people, has staged a comedy night at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, London. The event took place on 14 May.

Animal welfare charity Advocates for Animals is organising its first fundraising 'firewalk'. The event will take place in Edinburgh on 8 June. Participants will walk over hot coals to raise funds for the charity's OneKind campaign, which has been established to stop animal cruelty.
