St Mungo's, which supports homeless people in London, is holding an awareness week to raise funds and highlight the health problems that affect homeless people.

To launch its Action Week on 7 September, the charity is asking supporters to join a sponsored five-mile walk that will cross five of the city's bridges. The week will end with dinner at celebrity chef Simon Boyle's restaurant, Beyond Boyle, on 11 September. Entry to the walk costs £20 and tickets to the dinner cost £65. All the funds raised during the week will go towards the charity's £250,000 investment in improved healthcare for the homeless.

Demelza Hospice Care for Children could receive up to £600,000 from the auction of Damien Hirst's Beautiful Love Demelza Painting with Beautiful Butterflies in September. The artist will donate the funds to support seriously ill children.

The Depaul Trust is holding its first sponsored walk on 21 September to launch a series of UK events that will help homeless and disadvantaged young people. Entry costs £5 and organisers hope to raise more than £5,000.

Migraine Action is celebrating its 50th anniversary by asking supporters to hold sponsored events with the number 50 as their theme. The charity hopes to raise £50,000 to support the UK's migraine sufferers.

Rosa, the charity for UK women and girls, has launched an online appeal. Supporters can make donations dedicated to women they know, who will each receive a personal email from the charity.
