Railway Children, which works with street children in India, will receive £1 from the sale price of every Slumdog Millionaire DVD sold by supermarket chain Tesco. The DVD was released on Monday (1 June). The partnership is expected to raise more than £200,000.

The Child in Need Institute is launching a campaign to recruit people to host fundraising dinner parties. Cherie Blair launched the drive with a cookery demonstration at the Taste of Asia festival in London last week. Money raised will go towards the charity's Fighting Malnutrition in India appeal.

Disability charity Livability is to stage a fundraising hike following in the footsteps of Moses. The trek takes place in November, and will take in Egypt's Sinai valley and Red Sea.
