The Institute for Cancer Research has launched an online fundraising campaign with a dedicated website to mark its centenary year.

The One Hundred Faces site features 100 pictures of people who have been affected by cancer. Visitors can click on the faces and read people's stories; they are then encouraged to donate or find out more.

The Furnishing Trades Benevolent Association is looking for 72 supporters to enter the 2009 National Golf Championships on 17 September at The Belfry, near Sutton Coldfield in the Midlands. Tickets cost £140 for golfers, £35 for non-golfers. The charity hopes to raise about £13,000 from the tournament.

Shpforcharity.co.uk is a new online mobile phone recycling website where users can donate between 20 and 100 per cent of the funds raised from their old phones to any of the charities listed on the site. The donor receives the rest of the cash.

Friends of the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester, Kent, is holding its annual clay pigeon shoot on 31 July. Tickets are £60 and include 30 clays with instruction, 30 clays for competition and a lunch.
