John Whitaker, Oxfam's marketing director for the last 12 years, has left the charity.
Whitaker's brief once included responsibility for fundraising, campaigns and communications. But his fiefdom is to be split up.
He has been replaced by a new director of fundraising, Edward Fox, and a director of corporate marketing, Julia McKechnie. Both will report directly to Oxfam director Barbara Stocking.
A spokesman for Oxfam said the changes to the marketing team were part of a series of changes that have already included the migration of the charity's campaigns and communications function from the marketing department, to a new campaigns and policy department last year.
The charity would only say that Whitaker has moved on to "other projects" and will remain active in the sector.
He was instrumental in setting up Oxfam Ireland, Oxfam Germany and Oxfam International in his 12 years as marketing director, and in his time there the number of committed givers increased 20-fold.
