'Work together' to beat recession

Acevo chief urges fundraisers to adopt Disasters Emergency Committee tactic

Fundraisers should consider forming alliances similar to the Disasters Emergency Committee to beat the recession, according to Stephen Bubb, head of chief executives body Acevo.

Bubb will tell delegates at the Charities Aid Foundation's Funding the Future conference on 9 December that the UK's growing unemployment and homelessness represent a crisis and organisations should be open to new approaches.

"If there is a crisis internationally, members of the DEC work together," Bubb told Third Sector. "We should be thinking about those sorts of solutions too."
